Facility dog brings a unique benefit to county division

She’s not the princess or the pop star, but Clear Creek’s Fergie is her own breed of celebrity.


Since joining the county’s Health & Human Services Division in May, Fergie has helped dozens of children and adults feel more comfortable while they’re in court or talking to caseworkers about critical situations.

“Sometimes (the office) contains a lot of grief, and it’s a heavy load to carry. It’s a pleasure for staff to see her energy and eagerness,” Division Director Cindy Dicken said. “Everybody needs an outlet, and Fergie brings things back down to normal.”
