On Sept. 6, Two Bears Tap & Grill had 18 inches of hail wipe out its patio area — sweeping away the tables and chairs, blowing over the fence and knocking down a brick wall — while mud and water started seeping into the building.
However, within a week’s time, the restaurant reopened with its patio area rebuilt, thanks to the work of dozens of regular customers, local businesses and strangers.
“The support has been unbelievable,” co-owner Dan Geltmaker said. “… I really don’t know how to put it in words, how it makes you feel.”
