Idaho Springs’ Dynamite Days event continues evolving year after year

Even if the specifics vary from year to year, the spirit of Idaho Springs’ Dynamite Days has remained the same.

The schedule has changed from a two-day event some years to a one-day event others, sometimes it’s held in August and others in September, and events within the festival have come and gone.

Even so, organizers said it’s still a family-friendly end-of-summer festivity.

“It’s cool to see it still going on and rolling the way we initially intended it — a neighborhood celebration,” said Jason Siegel, formerly of the Idaho Springs Chamber of Commerce, who helped organize the first event in 2013.
