One suspect was arrested and two suspects remain at large after a double shooting on Thursday that the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says “stemmed from a marijuana transaction.”

“It’s not random,” said Mike Taplin, spokesman with the sheriff’s office. “… It was a planned meet.”

Around 9 p.m. Sept. 26, authorities responded to a report of shots fired at a home in the 11000 block of Blackfoot Road in Conifer, Elk Creek Fire confirmed. Two people — a father and son who Taplin declined to identify — were transported to Swedish Medical Center, both with non-life-threatening injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 303-271-5612.
