Clear Creek High School’s American history classes marched into battle as they learned about the Revolutionary War on Oct. 9.
On the field behind the school, students wearing black hats to signify the Americans and red hats to signify the British used rolled up paper for muskets to learn American history by re-enacting important battles.
One side “attacked,” with the number of soldiers falling in proportion to the number who were killed in the battle. Then the “generals” provided their classmates with details about the battles’ significance.
The outdoor battles definitely brought American history to life, which was history teacher Ben Mahoney’s plan.
