Melodrama cast gives time, talent to preserve history

It all comes down to a single drink of water.


That’s how Georgetown’s Amy Romine summarized “The Mark of Zero!” — this year’s melodrama performed by the Mill Creek Valley Players.

On Saturday night, Romine, who plays Señora Deleon, and her fellow cast members took to the stage in the Dumont Schoolhouse in the first of six performances. The annual melodrama is the Mill Creek Valley Historical Society’s biggest fundraiser, bringing in $3,000 to $4,000 each year, organizers estimated.
