Connie Offermann talks about 50 years fixing hair in Evergreen

Hairdresser Connie Offermann tears up when asked why she named her salon Hi-Winder.


“We’re high in the mountains, and I wind hair,” she explains as she talks about the beautiful place where she has done hair for 50 years. She loves it all: the scenery, the animals that eat her colorful flowers in planters outside the salon and the clients who’ve become more than friends throughout the years. In fact, some of them have been clients all 50 years.

“Every one of them, they’re not my clients, they’re my friends. I know their kids and grandkids,” she said, tearing up again. “No-body can say they love their job as much as I do.”
