Six people, most of whom are from the mountain area, have been recommended to join the county’s Wildfire Risk Reduction Task Force during the Jeffco Commissioners work session on Oct. 15.
Those recommended for the six open slots on the task force, according to Commissioner Lesley Dahlkemper, are Leif Carlson of Arvada, Cynthia Latham and Michelle Robbins of Evergreen, Nancy Balter and Susan Eagle of Genesee and Shirley Johnson of Conifer. A resolution to appoint them to the task force was on Tuesday’s agenda for the Jeffco Board of County Commissioners.
The county received 16 applications, and Dahlkemper said there was an emphasis on finding individuals who had a strong track record of involvement in their communities, while also stressing economic diversity.
