Elk Run residents, trick-or-treaters celebrate Halloween together

Elk Run Assisted Living was alive with activity on Friday night as hundreds of children trick-or-treated through the halls to get candy from residents.


Kids in costumes — superheroes, movie characters, animals and more — moved through the building, greeting residents with familiar words: “trick or treat,” “thank you” and “Happy Halloween.” The residents, some dressed in costume themselves, enjoyed putting candy into the kids’ bags.

It was a win-win for everyone involved.
