Plans to move forward with the sale of Golddigger Stadium, the former middle school and the bus barn properties have slowed as developers are cautious because a petition is in the works to recall Idaho Springs Mayor Mike Hillman.
Clear Creek school board President Mitch Houston said he had hoped the board would choose one firm to begin final negotiations with this month, but he has chosen to wait a month to see where things stand with the recall.
“The future of leadership in Idaho Springs came into question,” Houston said. “There are a lot of unknowns, and we won’t know the answers without waiting.”
