Service organizations provide early Thanksgiving dinners for seniors

Three service organizations were busy last weekend making sure the area’s senior citizens had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.


The Evergreen and Mountain Foothills Rotary clubs hosted their annual dinner that fed 160 seniors at the Evergreen Elks Lodge on Friday. Then on Sunday, Evergreen Elks Lodge members provided Thanksgiving meals for the residents of Green Ridge Meadows Apartments.

It was a win-win for both the volunteers who provided good food and camaraderie for the seniors and for the seniors, who weren’t forgotten for the holiday. It’s hard to tell which group was having a better time.
