Holiday Walk an opportunity for families to see Santa, Mrs. Claus

As usual, the Clauses rode into downtown Evergreen in style — atop a fire engine — to light up the Christmas tree and officially kick off the annual Holiday Walk on Friday night.

However, this year, they didn’t go from lighting the tree to their usual seats in the Little Bear Saloon. Rather, they found a cozy nook inside Evergreen National Bank where hundreds of families stopped by to see them and take their picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Becky Parnell of Arvada said she and her family attended the Holiday Walk last year for the first time, and while the line was too long for them to get photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, she liked how people were taking photos with them on the Little Bear stage.

The family comes to Evergreen occasionally for recreation, and Parnell said that she appreciates its small-town atmosphere.
