When you’re 5 or 6 years old, it’s easy to feel like Santa Claus and other American holiday traditions are the one and only way to celebrate.

But as LuAnne Brown, a paraprofessional at Elk Creek Elementary, is quick to say: “Santa Claus ain’t it.” The youngest students at Elk Creek learned this firsthand on Dec. 18. During their annual Polar Express day, the students traveled classroom to classroom, experiencing holiday traditions from a variety of cultures and countries.
