An Evergreen family’s home was destroyed in a fire Monday night on David Road in west Evergreen. No one was injured.
“The good news is the family and their pets were not home at the time,” said Capt. Stacee Martin with Evergreen Fire/Rescue. “When we got there, we knew there was no way to save the house. It was that involved in flames.”
The call came in around 10:30 p.m. Monday for the home, which is west of Witter Gulch Road between King-Murphy Elementary School and Upper Bear Creek Road. Twenty firefighters with 11 trucks responded. Water had to be hauled in, and Martin estimated that 40,000 gallons was used to extinguish the blaze.
