Conifer High students promoting cancer awareness through video challenge

Conifer High School students are working to spread awareness about the early detection of cancer — and gaining some authentic experience while they’re at it.


Students in Leslie Thompson’s student media class are competing in a contest hosted by Catch It In Time, a Denver-based nonprofit that strives to raise awareness about the early detection of cancer.

With equipment provided through a grant from the nonprofit, groups are competing for more than $30,000 in prizes by creating public service announcements geared toward raising awareness among young people.
