A Westminster woman whose parents graduated from Clear Creek High School has started a petition to save Golddigger Stadium.
“After hearing about what the school board had planned for these properties last year, it got the wheels turning on how do you preserve this piece of history,” said Katey Davis. “I felt like I needed to do something.”
The iconic Idaho Springs football field was put on the market by the Clear Creek school board last year. A buyer had the property, along with the bus barn and the former middle school under contract but broke the deal.
