Idaho Springs’ Mike Snow and Georgetown’s Tom Peterson had never met before they stopped by Werlin Park on Jan. 8. But from the way they talked and practiced hockey moves together on the Georgetown ice rink, there was a sense of camaraderie between them.
As the sun was setting and more people were getting off work and out of school, the feeling of community grew as more skaters joined them on the ice.
That is precisely why Georgetown decided to bring the amenity back, as it installed the new rink on Jan. 3.
