Mark Forgy dreamed of being a chief at a small fire department, but he never thought the department would be Indian Hills Fire Rescue — the one where he’s volunteered since 2012.
“I had applied for other fire jobs in the past, but (it was a challenge) just finding that right fit where the tempo wasn’t to the point where you would get burned out but wasn’t so slow that you would be bored with the job,” he said. “Indian Hills just seems like the perfect fit for me, so I really appreciate the opportunity.”
Forgy, an Evergreen resident who served as Indian Hills’ training and fire lieutenant, was officially hired by the board in January. He replaces Emery Carson, the longtime fire chief who retired at the end of 2019.
