For the first time in two decades, Colorado will host a presidential primary instead of the previously held caucuses.

In a state primary, voters return secret ballots and select a candidate with their affiliated political party. In a caucus, registered members of a political party gather to vote for their preferred party candidate.

Feb. 24 is the last day to return a ballot by mail. Ballot drop boxes are open every day, all day until 7 p.m. March 3. Jefferson County has seven in-person voting centers throughout the county, including one at the Evergreen Department of Motor Vehicles office.
