Schools, community working to keep kids mentally healthy

The counselors at Clear Creek High/Middle School believe students’ mental health is a top priority.

They use every method at their disposal to encourage kids to talk with trusted adults, so small issues don’t become big ones. This is an all-out effort districtwide to help kids cope with the issues in their lives, and everyone is involved: administration, principals, teachers, staff, bus drivers and students.

“We are working collaboratively to push mental health,” said Kayla Havens, the mental health service provider for Clear Creek schools.
