Jefferson County commissioners are planning meetings with the public in April to discuss the need for cutting $12 million from the 2020-21 budget.
Commissioners told about 40 people at a town hall meeting in Evergreen on Saturday that it was important for Jeffco residents to understand the reasons for the budget shortfall and for commissioners to get a handle on what services the community expects from the county.
The dates and locations should be released in the next few weeks, and Commissioner Lesley Dahlkemper said one of the meetings would be in Conifer.
