Conifer High School’s adapted physical education class came to play on March 11, and all their hard work certainly paid off.
Their annual basketball game against Elk Creek Fire department was a blowout. The final score? 131-13. The game announcers wasted no time teasing the firefighters for their poor showing.
Throughout the game, the support for the Conifer players was undeniable. Family and friends packed the gymnasium, and tons of students showed up to encourage the team.
Elk Creek Fire Chief Jacob Ware agreed, saying the basketball game is a personal favorite. He was congratulatory of Conifer’s team and proud of his own for holding Conifer to under 140 points.
“We love it. It’s one of the best things we do every year,” he said.
