Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Clear Creek Metropolitan Recreation District will still host its board of directors election on May 5.

Voters are encouraged to request absentee ballots. The district will post the request form on its website in the coming weeks, General Manager Rob Carter stated.

The district is also developing best protocols for Election Day and ballot-counting, such as social-distanced election tables and minimizing the number of people voting at a given time, board President Dan Ebert commented.

Over the next four weeks, the Courant will profile the 20 people running for the five open board seats. Ten are running for three seats with three-year terms, and 10 are running for two seats with two-year terms. The top vote-getters for the two-year and three-year seats will take the seats.

This week, the Courant is profiling five people running for the three-year seats.
