Scouts place flags at veterans’ graves to commemorate Memorial Day

Foothills veterans were not forgotten this Memorial Day — despite Safer-at-Home orders — thanks to area Scouts who placed American flags on their graves.


Scouting families gathered Friday night to put flags on 76 graves at Bear Creek Cemetery and Saturday morning to put flags on 300 graves at Evergreen Memorial Park. While the traditional Memorial Day ceremonies were canceled this year, the Scouts hoped the flags would remind people to honor those who served the United States in the military.
