Group protests in Evergreen over killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis

A half-dozen people stood at the corner of Highway 73/74 in downtown Evergreen on Tuesday to peacefully protest specifically last week’s death of African-American George Floyd at the hands of white Minneapolis police and generally the treatment of African-Americans in this nation.


The group, most of whom graduated from Evergreen High School in 2015 and 2016, is hoping to get a permit to host a march going from Bergen Park to the Jeffco sheriff’s Mountain Precinct on Highway 73, adding that officials had been receptive to their peaceful protest.
