Jeffco may open for traditional classroom learning in August

Jeffco Public Schools is still not sure what school will look like next year, but it’s considering reopening at full capacity with enhanced health measures.

This is partially because data from a community survey indicated that nearly 90 percent of the 12,146 respondents would certainly or likely send their student for in-person instruction despite concerns about COVID-19.

“We would like to open in a traditional environment. … We would like our students to be back,” Deputy Superintendent Kristopher Schuh said.

Jeffco Public Schools plans to unveil an official plan based on feedback and public health guidelines at its July 8 meeting.
