Born out of tragedy, Marshall Ulrich’s running career didn’t take long to morph into one of obsession.
With each new race, each new discipline, the 69-year-old former Clear Creek/Evergreen resident kept pushing his limits, sometimes beyond belief.
He recounts his adventures from small to harrowing in his new book, Both Feet on the Ground: Reflections from the Outside, which first published last year. In it, he describes how losing his first wife to cancer in 1978 ignited a running career unlike any other, one that took him to highest point on earth to the lowest point in North America.
