An Evergreen group has submitted a proposal to the Evergreen Park & Recreation District to build an indoor multipurpose facility for sports teams to use for practices and games.
Chris Lewis with the Evergreen Sports Collective wants the rec district board to move forward immediately with the plan, which would have a prefabricated building near the Buchanan Park Recreation Center operational by fall 2021.
Lewis, who unsuccessfully ran for a seat on the board in May, said during the election that he favored an indoor facility for local sports teams to use that would be paid for another way rather than asking district residents for more property taxes.
