The meetings will be held at DCES on Thursday, March 12th, 2015 at the following times:
5:30 PM Public Community (non-parents of current PCSD students)
7:00 PM Parents (parents of current PCSD students)

The Board of Education is making rapid progress on the Superintendent Search. At the April 1, 2015 meeting, the Board selected 8 Semi-Finalist Superintendent candidates.  The 8 Semi-Finalists were selected from 25 applicants.  The 25 applications were the 2nd highest number a district has received according to the Colorado Association of School Boards.  Telluride received 29 applications. On April 7, the Board selected three Finalists from the list of eight Semi-Finalists. The Finalists are: Dr. Brenda Krage, former Assistant Superintendent in Pueblo, Mr. Brian Krause; Director of Student Services, Jefferson County Schools and previous Principal, Platte Canyon High School; and Mr. Rim Watson, Principal, Fitzsimmons Middle School and previous Assistant Superintendent, Christian County Schools, Kentucky.

On Friday, April 17, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the Canyon Room (HS building), the District will host a “Meet and Greet” for the public to meet the three candidates. Those who attend will be able to fill out a card to share perceived strengths and weaknesses of each Finalist.

On Saturday, April 18, the Finalists will be interviewed by committees and the Board of Education. Twenty-one applications were received from employees, parents and community members desiring to participate as members of the interview committees.  All 21 have been approved to participate in interviewing of the finalists. Following the interviews, the committees will provide the Board of Education with lists of identified candidate strengths and weaknesses.

The Board of Education will select the Superintendent from the three Finalists at a meeting on April 20, 2015.

The target date for the new Superintendent to start in the District is July 1, 2015.

The Public Meet & Greet for Friday, April 17, 2015 @ 6:00 P.M. and the Board of Education, Special Meetings scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2015 @ 8:00 A.M. & Monday, April 20, 2015 @ 6:00 P.M.have been postponed.

Notice will go out when they are rescheduled.

The Public Meet and Greet for the Platte Canyon School District Superintendent search has been rescheduled for Monday, April 20th from 6:15-7:30pm in the Canyon Room. The Board of Education values the input of the community in this important decision for the district. Comment cards will be provided to share observations about the candidates with the Board of Education. Light refreshments will be provided.

Finalists will interview with three panels (two consisting of public, parents, teachers and staff and one consisting of the Board of Education). Interviews will be held Monday, April 20th and are open to the public to observe. Interviews will begin at 3pm and last for approximately a hour and a half each. There will be two rounds of interviews followed by a break for the Meet and Greet with a final interview round after.
