People Are IDIOTS!!!

A fireman starts the Soda Creek fire, multiple recent violations of the burning bans. I used to be more concerned about people down the hill coming up here and starting fires. Now I'm more concerned about people up here starting them. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE. I hope anyone caught faces severe penalities. They don't even deserve the right to live up here.

Agree that nearly all the human caused fires in the foothills are caused by foothills residents, rather than flatlanders.

The question is, what can we do about it? How can we make folks more aware?

I believe a slow pit roast is in order!
I carry, and if I see anybody doing something stupid, well...
Also I reported an unmaned burn, and was told "It's ok he's got a permit." I said "He left the fire there is nobody to watch it. "I'M SURE HE'LL BE RIGHT BACK!" was my answer. WTF!!!

Only 1200 such fires in the last seven years? ThatS only 171 fires per year on this property. Can't figure out what went wrong.

He poured snow on them - that dry powdery stuff we've had before the last storm?

IMO that was totally inadequate, and he SHOULD know better!

I had that happen TPP. I called and they said he had a burn permit. I insisted that they come check it because I didn't see any fire suppression equipment either.

Maybe talking about same a-hole, hope so.

Damn-it! I was afraid of that...

the good news is that we have this forum to keep an eye peeled and can track anything going on. I think we are in much better shape that most mountain communities.
