EAGLE, Colo. -- Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers are warning the public not to feed the bears after two people were seen feeding cheeseburgers to a female black bear with three cubs outside a Burger King.
The sow and her cubs were going through a Dumpster at the Burger King on Interstate 70 on Wednesday, officials said.

Most fast food places have surveillance cameras these days to cover the parking lot and drive thru. I sure hope the people that fed the bears are contacted by LE and handed a stiff fine. Even if you are not from here there is no excuse for feeding wildlife, these are the same caliber of people that feed the gators in the south. Nothing good can come from feeding wildlife, let them find their own food.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Good point, humming birds are unlikely to break down a door and raid your house they just buzz you if you are in the way of the feeder.

Yeah, and don't feed white bread to the fish! You might get a ticket from the treehuggers for making them FAT!

Tourists never cease to amaze me. Next thing these poor bears will be cruising the drive thru for an egg Mcmuffin. Sad.

Reminds me of the tourists on Trailridge road posing next to and taking pictures of the fat, junk food chipmonks. Hey LOOK says the city slicker-- its a "wild" chipmonk, oh my!

Oh, BTW CG, good pic., I'd rather see them in the wild though, instead of near a dumpster.

It's not just tourists. Locals feed the bears, deer, etc. Just look at Burland. You know deer are fed when they see and run towards you thinking you will feed them. They stop, get pissed and leave if you don't give them anything. It is pathetic. And the wrong foods are killing them. Some people just don't seem to get it.

I guess this area is good about NOT feeding the deer - they all run away from people, except for one two year old buck, who will just stare you down. At least, until the dogs start barking at him.

Wildlife officials say Donna Munson, 74, built a metal fence covering her porch, shown here, so she could feed bears through it. Munson was found dead outside her home Friday. (Jerry L. Neal, Colorado Division of Wildlife)
