Let's see - what else wasn't mentioned?

Underwater - Archers, Dome Rock, Stevens Gulch, Deansbury,Waterton, Phillipsburg, Longview, Loviers, Wolhurst, Mill Gulch, possibly Lamb, but that may still be there, because it was far enough up the hill.

See if VL can find - Pine Cliff, Symes, Dawson, Estabrook, Chase, Nighthawk, Deer Valley, Hutchinson, Belleville, Hildebrands, Thomsons, Brownville, Bordenville, Mountaindale, McLaughlin, Vermillion, Webster, Bryn Mawr, Kaiserheime, Cassells, Singleton, Ferndale, Maddox, Long Meadow, Altrunia, Grousemont, Wallen Station,Willard, St. Ruby. I should take Estabrook of the list, since people still live there, and I did not include Insmont for the same reason, nor Crystall. Other towns are still towns - Pine (obviously), Buffalo Creek, Bailey, Slaughts (figure that one out, VL), Grant, Foxton. Glenisle is obvious, even though no longer a town. Yes, there were ALL legit towns and they ALL can be found on the maps, IF you know where and when to look.

Give you a hint, VL - they all existed from here to Kenosha pass. I'll also give that some are likely long gone thanks to the Hayman fire.

For $200, I'll give you my map with all of them on it, AND point them out on Google maps, since I know how to find them all.

BTW - is is NOT pronounced Cressens by anyone but those ignorant of area history. Of all the towns that changed names in this area, Crossons NEVER did. At least learn a small bit of the history before spouting off about it.

(Yes, I know I didn't mention all the towns - but this is enough of a challenge, is it not?)

Oh, and photo evidence, VL - I've been almost all those places and I'll know your lies. (Thoise I haven't been to I have access to historic photos of and honestly, a great portion of the area has NOT changed.)

Up to the challenge? Likely you will find more berries as well. And some other interesting stuff, if you are so inclined. And learn some history as well!

Bonus Challenge - Symes has a different name and is actually rather easy to find - here's the challenge - used to be a town and train station there - can you tell me where they were?

Oh damn, if we go state wide, we'll have one hell of list. I was trying to keep it between 285 and Deckers, for the most part. Forget that - I'll look at the books from people who already did this work. I have an 1978 one that lists Fairplay as a ghost town - which was fairly accurate for the time.

it's been a few years since I was up near Brekenridge.

Closer to Frisco, or this side? Looking at the map,I see several. You thinking Kokomo,Robinson, Wheeler, or a different one?

Curtis and Dicker are too close to Frisco... though there is also Lincoln City, Georgia, Hall Valley and Preston.

Oh, maybe Argentine?

(Puts away the maps before the kids start laughing at me again for putting them behind my head to keep them out of the way and in order.)

Yeah I've been to all those and a few more. We hunted turkeys, deer, elk, bear and mountian lion for over 15 years so we know every dry creek bed and and gully between here and Deckers. And we did'nt learn the geography from books- We walked it all on foot

Right - so where are they, VL? Which ones are near each other, and which ones are not? Which one doesn't even exist in this part of the state?

Local Historian: Do you know what year the last wild Buffalo was seen in Bailey, and who saw it?

I just don't have the time to answer all those questions now. I have things to do in the courthouse
