Whatever. If the idiot wants to test his ideas, let him go ahead. More often than not, thoughtless action like this ends up costing more in the end.

The house need not expose insulation. More than one kind of siding may be installed as it was on the house I tore down. I suppose it is the sign of the times, where people resort to all sorts of things to make ends meet. Really kind of sad when you think about it. I anticipate it will only get worse. All I can say is I'm very thankful to have work.

Have to agree Rockdoc I think it will get worse. Many homes empty over this way. Some look as if they were gutted and everything sold before they left.

I don't think removing the siding helps improve the area, nor would it help keep the cold out.

Replied by TPP on topic Neighbor wants to remove siding

mtntrekker wrote: :VeryScared: In talking with several neighbors about the water waste of another neighbor, one neighbor tells me that he wants to reduce his property taxes by removing the siding from one side of his home like some do in Alaska? It is then considered unfinished. Would that work in Park County? I have lost sight of all the new LUR's for PARKCO. Will this be the new trend to reduce taxes? LOL I keep learning new stuff.

You live next to vl, wish he'd fix that...
And get rid of the 2 cars on blocks, & that damn refrgerator (or the bathtub, one or the other Ta start) out of his front yard.

typical burland home has about $700/yr in property tax.

My winter gas bill if doubled for the months October - May (8 months) would be greater than the $700/yr in property tax.

Overall, I'd say your neighbor has a brain fart of an idea.

But hey - it's Bailey....... What do you expect --- Einstein?

I think one of the reasons folks move up here is to get away from all that nosy neighbor crap. get a grip and get a life and find something else to do with your time than worry about what your neighbors are doing...

Wily as stated before the info was provided to me. I didn't see it or look for it. It was meant for discussion. If they can do it in Alaska, I wonder if it is really feasible and doable here.

It seems to me you have mentioned activities going on around your area with the cutting of trees, neighbors not wanting you on their property and other stuff, so how about we just have a discussion about whether it is feasible or not.
