Per CDOT:
WB I-70 closed MM 257 Mount Vernon Canyon due to accident. Detour: US 6

It is a very serious situation.

They are currently flushing out the vehicles that were caught within the closure area, and will then allow additional traffic onto I70. US 40 is badly backed up in this area now.

Vehicles have been flushed from the closure area, I70 traffic is now being allowed into the area, although only one lane is open at this time.
