With all the wind, smoke kicking up in the Lower North Fork Fire. Looks like it is staying within the containment area.

I don't want to make a big deal out of this, but just say that we live in an amazing community with fantastic people.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Thx for taking the time to come up and film this. It is wonderful to see the community get a chance to thank all those incredibly brave folks who do so much for our community.

Beautiful video. So good to see our firefighters thanked for their service. Thank you for your service. And thanks to the animal evac people who worked so hard to get animals out of harms way.

I had the opportunity this morning to go up with one of the owners who lost their home and do some preliminary clean up and scope the area. I could clearly see the path the fire took as it rushed up the ridge. What really surprised me though was the amount of real estate that still could/can burn.

Also went home via Foxton Road and Platte River Rd and could see where the fire went through from that perspective. It looks like only a small swath in a huge amount of green overgrowth.

Be alert, make good judgments if you see smell smoke and stay safe. It is going to be a long spring/summer/fall if we don't get moisture.

installed a 12 ft gate yesterday afternoon at friends place off of kuehster. sooo many people driving up and looking. no wonder there is such a need for gates. people wandering everywhere. please don't trespass on other property.

so much work to be done. while the fire did a good job of burning the house to crisp, it left so many standing dead trees which are now a hazard so that clean up will follow once the house area is done.

Becky wrote: Gov. John Hickenlooper has assembled a group of legislators to ask for an After action Review of the Lower North Fork Fire. If you have questions or information regarding this fire, or feel strongly that this review should take place, please contact one of the legislators listed below an express your concerns and demand answers.

The governor on Monday also announced he is working with Colorado’s Congressional delegation, specifically U.S. Sens. Mark Udall and Michael Bennet and U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman, to issue a joint letter calling for an after-action review of the Lower North Fork fire. This review will take place after firefighters have achieved 100 percent containment of the blaze, and after the review of the prescribed fire being conducted by Bass and his team.

Thanks Becky. As of right not it looks like many people have so much or even too much help at the moment. But I am sure that will change. Pretty much an initial response kind of thing. I will let you know.

What impressed me was at one homesite, someone knew to have mouth coverings while screening through all the ash looking for small items. Hope they do it when cutting out all the black charred wood as breathing that stuff isn't any better.
