At around 6:30 last night, that fire blew up and ran hard. People at the gymnastics meet were really upset.
Many just left early. The picture above was taken just as it started to blow up.

Hmmm, try pressing recent incidents to the left and scroll down to Waldo fire.

Scanner just said that the fire has made it past their dozer line but don't know their location as to where it broke through.

Listening to 9 news last night. Koebrick says the bigger c130's scheduled for today to drop retardant. I am sure it wasn't meant the way it was sounded but it looked like they were bringing them in for the gigundo homes near Garden of the Gods. Heaven help them if the c130's aren't used in all areas of homes in the Waldo Canyon fire.

People that know me know that I work at a Chuckwagon venue during the summer.

Our sister organization -the Flying W - is closed due to fire.

My heart goes out to the Flying W folks.

While I was out picking up trash on 285, I couldn't really make out a plume from here. Too hazy.

The website officials mentioned at the Colorado Springs briefings for the public to check is Inciweb. It's more than just raw data, it's in English, and also has a map. Updated frequently:

http://www.inciweb.org/incident/2929/

There's also a website with a live feed of the fire:

Thanks Raees for the link to the cam.

And thanks if you really are out picking up trash on 285.

kktv.com has a live stream 24/7 of the Waldo fire.

Sleeping last night tough with all the smoke. Kept getting up to check to make sure that there wasn't smoke/fire around the area.

Pretty scary, half of the US forestfire assets are here in Colorado fighting fires.

Mandatory rain dances required?

From Buena Vista yesterday, we couldn't see any plume.
