working from home this costs me a bunch more hours on the computer.
Now I have been on hold for almost an hour and a half or being transferred from one to the next, just to get that fixed and/or reimbursed
if you are having the same problem call 1 800 244 1111 and ask for reimbursement for the down time and adjustment for slow speed
- be prepared to be on hold for a long time though...
apparently they are working on the servers in our area (ECH) which causes the problems, but I've heard that story for the past 7 years...
Still not what i am paying for.
Does anyone else feel like service has gone down since Century link took over?
I have had a lot of bad modem issues with them. They have installed at least 3 modems in the last year.
Is this DSL? The underground phone lines in the Bailey area are notorious for lightning and moisture problems during the monsoon months. I'm getting pretty good wireless service from Wispertel now that Skybeam has taken over and upgraded some equipment. I think my service is supposed to be "up to 2 mbps download" lately I get about 1.4 mbps
If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2
Republicans are red, democrats are blue, neither of them, gives a flip about you.

Thank you RY- Mine is ridiculously slow. I demanded another modem thinking that was the problem but it got even slower. I have to puase Youtubes to let them load in order to watch them, its like a dail up connection. My connections were MUCH MUCH faster down in the jungles of South America and that service was provided free from thier government.
We always get fleeced here in America- The internet is like roads or sewer systems, it should be provided to us for free- If Corporate interests get thier way, and they always do in America they'll be charging us for the air we breathe soon, and thats after they get done polluting it
I don't think CenturyLink guarantees any of their speeds... you're just alloted "up to" that amount, not any guaranteed bandwidth... I'd check the fine print.
Most DSL companies are that way, mainly because they don't have the infrastructure to provide consistent bandwidth, so they get rid of minimum-speed guarantees, and oversell their service.
I'm great at getting things from customer service representatives so if anyone needs me to call one on your behalf, let me know. I once got my brothers money back from a $15,000 boat he bought and promplty wrecked on a reef..
LOL wrote: I had to battle with Skybeam about my rental charge too, I bought the equipment a long time ago. I only pay $29/mo
Don't you like it when they explain to you why their service is bad? I was at the airport the other day and had to endure a long explanation as to why my e ticket wasn't processes correctly by their system. A computer glitch- I told her that
"I don't care why, I just want to get on this air plane"
