Recently released audit reports and billing information for the Bailey-based Platte Canyon Fire Protection District show that the numbers used to justify a property tax increase that passed in the November 2009 election are far different from current reality.

Get rid of them all... and take the damned sheriff's dept. too

Went to their website and opened up the link about the district to find out who are the current board members. It hasn't been updated and it still shows Davis as chief.

Dump Pence, Jim Gilman and Tamminga and all the rest who lie and cheat the public. Bet the two that are realtors are lousy at it as well. Time to clean house.

And could the damn fire department stop wasting all our money taking the equipment and responders to garage sales. I don't think it qualifies as company business.

Hey trekker, maybe they stopped at the garage sale to buy a fire engine. There are lots of them parked on the road at the sales. Maybe they are getting a good deal. Wonder who owns the ones that are on the road just sitting their while our firefighters are playing at the sale?

I get it when I see them in the national forest practicing how to maneuver over rugged hills but have no idea what they are learning from garage sales.

shoot, they all lie to us all the time,...just look at Fred at the debates and the questions regarding our Jail, while Mike Graves told us the truth and the statistics. He (Fred) looked us straight in the eyes and flat out lied to us about the Jail. I just don't know how people can do that.

That’s more than 20 percentage points higher than Davis’ 26 percent collection rate used as the basis for the 3.5 mills property tax increase.

Bottom line....He was employed by a board to do a job. That board was ultimately responsible for any and all actions he did or did not take and he is not here today to defend himself so for me.....it doesn't really matter what he did or did not know.
He answered to a BOD who directed his actions.
I don't think it serves any real purpose to go after someone who CANNOT defend or refute any actions he took or information he provided.
If you really want answers......attend a board meeting and ask them.
There are folks who understood that the picture that was being painted wasn't right.
