Sometimes they seem to post OK and other times no matter what code I copy I just can't seem to get then to properly link.

Anybody else?

Yesterday I copied the utube url line. Pasted it here, highlighted it and hit the utube button. First time I have been able to embed a video here in quite a while.

If it has an https: in the address you have to remove the s in the http: And the only way they work is in this code.

So, two options. Email the owner of the Communities Bound site you are on and they will be glad to fix it for you or I search the subject of the video and click on that and it should come up with the correct code. My apologies that we have not found a better way on PHPBB forums to fix that issue.

After you find the same video-- Use this code: (in the address bar)

It also doesn't work if the url looks like this: www.youtu.be with the dot in the middle of "tube"

For example: [youtube] youtu.be/ VYrF3sFBY20[/youtube] needs to become this: http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=VYrF3sFBY20

If it has the words "embedded" or "feature" in it, as CG said above, it also won't work. They used to have a quick and easy "Share Longer Link" option that made this easy to fix, but their recent upgrade (in last 2 weeks) removed that feature. As CG said, do a search for the exact title and it should come back with the youtube.com/watch?v=identity code. If it doesn't, PM me or the 285 Tech Crew and we'll fix it for ya!

Sorry, it's on my to-do list to create a bunch of tutorial videos for things like this, and update our "How to Add a YouTube video" thread, and I just haven't been able to get to them yet. I really need time to freeze for everyone but me for a week so I can get caught up...
