Hi all this was post on Evergreenbound and I believe this is an important issue for those concerned to watch.

The Canyon Courier is conducting an online opinion poll with the question:
"Are you in favor of the effort to recall the fire board over the decision to build a fire-training building in Bergen Park?

Those that wanted the recall got the votes they needed to make it happen but I still do not believe that it is what Evergreen wanted.

This will cost the tax payers a lot of money I just hope that the volunteers understand that there are many people out there backing them and the current board members.

There has been talk that if they do not get the votes that they need to recall the members that they "those opposed" have to pay for the recall. I have yet to find any truth to this but maybe others know more than I do.

I think Evergreen loses either way.

That's just wishful thinking. If this was honestly a case of a board ignoring valid concerns of a minority, the recall would make sense. But since this is a case of people screwing up when they bought their houses (or rented them) and not doing research on what is already planned an budgeted at the nearby fire station, then it's not a case of David and Goliath - it's a case of a few curmudgeons wasting tax dollars.
