Cruise Ship Of The Damned?

After the latest cruise debacle would you still consider going on one? Or do you figure this latest engine fire disaster is an outlier and you should be fine
Plus you have to figure they have some deep discounts to get people back on board.

Not that they do not deserve it but I am having a hard time empathizing with the passengers. If it was hell for the passengers I'll bet it was hell squared for the crew. Thousands of winey sand crabs. Makes my teeth ache.

Cruise ships are already floating petri dishes but this had to be much much worse. Bright side? Usually you gain weight on a cruise...

When I heard "mustard sandwiches" in one interview it gave me pause . . .

That being said, I wouldn't cruise with Carnival due to their track record, but it doesn't turn me off to cruising.

Better not read this article.

"What cruise lines don't want you to know"

Sounds like they push those ships and crew members pretty hard.
(Agree on Carnival, never heard positive reviews on them)

I heard one passenger complaining this morning that the ship opened the bar and people got drunk and rowdy.

No kidding, that is hard to believe

I'll bet that after the last couple of incidents there will be a lot of super deals on cruises next fall. I only say next fall because I would imagine most spring and summer cruises are already booked.

I truly don't get the allure of a cruise. It sounds like being trapped at sea in a Holiday Inn eating Darden quality food while experiencing no foreign culture at all.
