Thanks to Evergreen Fire Rescue volunteers for doing an outstanding job of adapting to quickly changing conditions and overcoming many challenges in order to provide their usual excellent service to the community during the flood incident.

Your efforts are appreciated!

Agreed!

You know who I was really impressed with? Jeffco Sheriff, the Clear Creek Sheriffs, and the Alpine Rescue Team who hiked 140 kids down from Mt Evans Outdoor Lab to waiting buses along the pre=planned evac trails that they'd hiked up to check that it was safe so they could go home instead of spend the weekend away from their parents. Sure, some would've been thrilled, but many would've known they weren't supposed to be there and been miserable and worried, as well as their parents (my kids' school was at the Bailey location this week, it could've easily been classmates of my kids' up there so I know exactly how I'd feel). They made a special effort to do that after initially considering to keep them and that was a tremendous effort and execution to get them all down and home without incident. We are blessed with great first responders/volunteers in our communities.

But don't forget that EFR was involved in that effort also.

Kudos again to EFR for quick action to rescue a dog from Bear Creek in the vicinity of Upper Bear Creek Road and Meadow Brook Lane.
