Very sad news. Prayers heading up for his family, friends and coworkers.

PARK COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – The Park County Sheriff’s Department is mourning the death of one of its deputies.

Hamilton recently bought a home and may have come into contact with rodent droppings while cleaning up sheds and outbuildings on the property.

Be careful out there. If you see mouse droppings, use gloves and a lot of bleach or similar disinfectants.
Especially this time of year when mice are seeking warm places inside to winter.

Sad and a bit concerning too.

Hopefully more to follow......"what may have been"......operative at this point. Mice are everywhere and most homes have several (known or not)....why do we not have many more cases....very weird to say the least.

This is sad and easily preventable. When I do the big spring clean of the barn, I look like a member of a HAZ-MAT team. And nothing comes back in the house.

Prayers to his family

Disinfectant yes but not inclined to use bleach with droppings that consist of ammonia.

I don't quite understand how it happens to someone who appears quite healthy and then not to others.

We have been cleaning out cabins, barns, homes for decades in the mountains without any side effects or deaths.

Rest in peace JEH.
