Hey guys and gals, I was wondering if there is a local HAM radio club anywhere up here in the hills and if so, when are meetings? I was reading what the differences are between HAM and CB radio operators and I'm leaning more on the HAM side due to the more technical skill involved and the level of privilege that comes with HAM. I haven't read good things about CBrs, and sadly I used to be one of those delinquents that clogged up the airwaves with garbage a long time ago. I know not everyone operates that way, and there are delinquent Amateurs too, but HAM frequencies are regulated a lot more which requires the operators to be a helluva lot more responsible! Anyway, I want to hear some good things people. Let me know when and where, I'm a fast learner and can take this seriously. I'm not looking to be an apprentice or anything though as I work full time during the regular business week, but I'm really interested. Thanks in advance, have a good day.
You just missed the meeting on Saturday, next meeting will be March 22, 2:00 PM at Saint Mary of the Rockies Church on Crow Hill.
Before the meeting, at 12:30 we will hold a Volunteer Examiner (VE) session at which tests are conducted for the three classes of Amateur Radio Licenses; Technician, General, and Extra.
Please check out the website, and come back with any questions you have.
Thank you Sir, I bookmarked the website and I'll make it to the next meeting. In the meantime I'll do some reading/learning to get my feet wet, especially because anything electrical mystifies me. Thanks again.
