Kassie Guy Team Moxin

He got his PICC line IV out today! No more tape on his little head! When a room opens up on their "graduate" NICU they are moving him over, it's like a step down from where he is now. We are really excited that he has progressed so much to be able to move but we will miss some of our favorite nurses in this unit. Being on this side of the care has sure opened my eyes, it is definitely going to make me a better nurse. We have had to leave Moxin in their care especially at night and trust them 100%. And that has not been easy. Mr Moxin also took his first bottle this afternoon. He was able to drink 15cc before he tired out. The nurse was very pleased with this for his first time. We are putting breast feeding on hold for now until his respiratory status improves. He was getting too frustrated trying to eat and manage his breathing. Bottle feeding is easier and will get us one step closer to going home!!

Here's little Mr. Moxin Guy.
Sleeping like the angel he is.
Thanks for all the support everyone.
It is heart warming to see the community so united behind this little family.
There really is good in the world, and a whole lot of it is right here in Colorado.
Bless you all.

He is too precious. I hope they'll be bringing him by the station once he's up for the outside world so we can meet him! :)

Kassie Guy
Snug as a bug! Little guy is exhausted. Still working on eating, it takes a lot of energy for him to eat and breath at the same time.

Berkeley Guy

So I haven't updated in awhile and left Kassie to do it because I got too many comments on my good writing. I don't want to create more work for myself in the future so I'm scaling it back. . We got the news that we have been waiting over two weeks to hear. We get to bring him home tomorrow pending any setbacks before then. He was taken completely off oxygen this morning and seems to not be missing a beat. He is eating great and get more and more active everyday. It is pretty amazing to see. They have to test him in his car seat to make sure that the ride home won't make it difficult to breath but we aren't worried. That is an easy test compared to what he has been through. Kass and I are getting burned out and overwhelmed to say the least at the hospital. We are ready to go home. Just to paint a picture. They have been trying to send us to education classes and want us to go to a CPR class. We are both CPR certified but they don't seem to care or believe us. Cooperate to Graduate is what I keep saying. All in all, it has been a great day and we are almost to the point where we will have him to ourselves and he gets to be our baby and not the hospitals. It will be a great day and one I will remember the rest of my life. We have been getting unending support through all of this and it has simply been amazing. I can't stop thinking about it and what a great group of friends and family we have in our lives. People we have never met continue to poor in to offer help and prayers and it has been humbling to say the least. A big thank you again to everyone. I'm crossing my fingers my next update will be from the comfort of our home and not the hospital.

For the first time ever Moxin is sleeping soundly without any tubes in his body. It is amazing to see.

I can't even imagine how thrilled they are to be home. I'm so happy for them!
