So we made it through the night even though it was tough to sleep. Moxin is doing great and is very happy. The oxygen tube mess all over the ground is a nuisance but it is worth it to have him home. We couldn't be happier about that. We got news last night that our Beagle got in the middle of some of the big dogs and got pretty beat up. She is at the vet hospital by my moms house with a pretty damaged back and front leg. They suspect her jaw is displaced if not broken and possible damage to her larynx. If her larynx is damaged she may be on a feeding tube here on out which means we may have a very hard decision on our hands later today. So the tears and fears continue today but at least we have a sweet boy, who is doing amazing and has shown amazing strength, to be with and hold. I've always said God doesn't give you more than you can handle and everything happens for a reason but sometimes thats hard to trust. We have certainly been tested these past two weeks in life and it continues today but we will continue to be there for each other and push through it. To leave on a positive note Moxin just farted and had a smile on his face when he did it.
Things are calming down and starting to move towards feeling normal. It's a lot quieter around here since Lexi passed but I think Moxin appreciates that. After looking at the backyard and talking with mom we are more convinced a coyote got her and thankfully couldn't get her out of the backyard or we may not have ever seen her again. It was nice to see her one last time for me and Kassie. We brought her back home Friday night and will bury her ashes in the backyard. It's been an extremely hard time to have to deal with that and it is very hard to move on. You start to really realize how much love you had for a pet when they are gone and realize how much they contributed to everyday life. Moxin is picking up where Lexi left off and will carry us forward from here on out. We keep getting reminded when looking into Moxin's eyes how precious life is and how lucky we are to have him. He got his oxygen levels tested up at our house with no oxygen on and was in the low 90s dipping down in the high 80s so they will keep him on oxygen for at least a couple weeks but that shows us great strength and encouragement to get him off it soon. These past two weeks have probably been a couple of the hardest weeks I've had to deal with in my life and I think I can say the same for Kassie. We have been tested to the core. Moxin is an incredible little guy and hopefully soon we can look back at all this and realize as a family we are stronger for it.
So sorry for your loss. It works as a reminder to go out with your pets and children no matter what time of day or night.
Thank you for the update on Moxin. We work with any number of young infants in ICU in South American countries when they can actually get there. We are blessed to have such state of the art facilities and caring people in the USA and Colorado.
Moxin's happy place! Updates have been fewer because life is just happening. Moxin is doing great, eating and sleeping a ton like he's suppose to! The dogs have adjusted well to having the little man around and everyone is doing well. We are so thankful for all the support and prayers we have received from each and everyone of you, thank you.
