So who thinks we will really get the snow they say?

Watching the National Weather Service radar, there's a good sized band moving across the front range from the southwest but not much else behind it. Will another stream of moisture sneak up on us later tonight? The NWS forecast says it will probably snow well in to tomorrow night.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

We've got a good 4" here in Lakewood and it's still coming down. Looks like we'll get the 7-8" max predicted for down here.

In Denver today we got 3-4 inches on the car early, which then melted enough to slide off. When it was time to come home we had a few inches to scrape off again. Up here it looks to be 6-8" so far -- not anywhere near the 18" that was promised. But boy is it wet & sloppy!! That part I'm liking.

I was hoping for an un-forecasted whopper, ala March 2003. Obviously we didn't get that but if it knocks down the fire danger then I'll gladly take all of the moisture we can get from this storm. If you have faith in the good folks of the National Weather Service they predict that Thursday will be another chance for some precip. In the short term I guess we'll have to wait and see what things look like tomorrow morning. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if the roads are closed but I doubt that is going to be the case.

Best wishes to all as you head into the office tomorrow! Unsolicited advice; shinny side up, rubber side down, don't drive any faster than you can see.

It is still snowing. I got more snow overnight (that actually didn't melt away) than I got all day yesterday.

Us too, paca. It's beautiful. Awfully glad we're not having to drive in it, though.

I was wrong, this storm delivered. If it had been about five degrees colder, it would have been a major disaster this Monday in the metro area.

We've gotten almost a foot here and that was more than they were calling for.

We got a good 18 inches here (8500'), not exactly the welcome back to Colorado I was expecting. We're hoping that it warms up quickly because shoveling that much heavy wet snow in 2 driveways just isn't going to happen.
