The Fairplay burro race will be Sunday, July 27, 2014 as part of the Burro Days celebration -

.
Members of the Park County Radio Club and other Hams will be providing communications to assist with coordination and safety for the burro race as they have since 1981. We will be located at the Start/Finish line and strategic checkpoints/aid stations throughout the course.
We hope that all will enjoy the festivities, and would be happy to have you stop and say Hello.

I'll be at Burros Days the whole weekend, Friday through Sunday, covering multiple events for The Flume, and working the Flume booth. What repeaters will you all be sending your traffic on? Can you either list them here, or PM to me.
It will help me cover the race. I'll bring my HT with me (I don't have a ticket but I can monitor).
Always held during the last weekend in July, the 66th Annual Burro Days will take place on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27, 2014.
Over 10,000 people participate in festivities such as: burro races, llama races, kiddies pack dog races, parades, contests, over 140 arts & crafts booths, over 30 food vendor booths, local musical entertainment, dance & BBQ, pancake breakfast, Cowboy Church services and more!
Burro Days merchandise is available for purchase at the Burro Information Booth during the event weekend.
All proceeds go to Park County RE-2 schools

Thanks to all who participated in making this year's Burro Days a success!!
Had 55 racers this year, and 17 of those ran the long (29+ Miles) course to the top of Mosquito Pass and back. I believe that is about twice as many as have tried that in the past.
Thankfully, NO serious injuries reported!
I much enjoyed the conversations with those I was able to talk with (I should probably say something like '... with whom I was able to talk' ).
Remember, next weekend is the companion Leadville Boom Days and Sunday race to the top of Mosquito Pass from the other side.
Hope to see/talk with many of you there.
