2017 South Platte and Denver/Front Range Region Christmas Tree Program

South Platte’s Holiday Tree program will be offering two locations on the district this year to cut your Christmas tree.

We are pleased to announce in addition to our traditional Buffalo Creek cutting area, we will be offering limited Holiday tree permits for the Camp Fickes cutting area (see map).


On Camp Fickes permits there is No Camping, No Trailers and No Picnics within the cutting area and only vehicles equipped with 4-wheel drive capability are allowed in the area.

REMINDERS:
Permits are non-refundable and can only be used on the day that they were purchased.
Permits are for personal use only and not for resale.
Permit dates cannot be changed after the permit has been issued.
Cell phones may or may not work in the tree cutting areas.

Christmas tree mail-ins will begin on September 28, 2017 for Buffalo Creek and Camp Fikes cutting areas (see order forms). Along with the Christmas Tree Permit Order Form for 2017, please include your payment: check or money order. Credit cards will not be accepted for mail-in requests. Purchasers must also include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for each two permits requested; insufficient postage will result in your permit request returned to you. Permit requests must be postmarked by Friday, November 3, to allow time for processing and return mail. We will process mail-in requests in the order received.


Counter sales (walk-ins) will be at the South Platte Ranger District office beginning on Monday, November 6 at 8:00 am. Payments for counter sales include cash, checks, money orders, and credit cards. The South Platte Ranger District Office is located approximately six miles south of C-470 on Highway 285. The office will be open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm weekdays for counter sales. The office will closed on Friday, November 10, in observation of the Veteran’s Day Holiday. Last day to buy a Christmas tag will be November 17, 2017.

Please note: No on-site permits will be available for purchase, so please make sure you mail your request in with payment postmarked by November 3 or purchase your permit at the district office beginning on November 6. We expect all permits to sell out by mid-November.

This will be the last year for over-the-counter Christmas tree sales, starting 2018 we will only be accepting mail-in-orders.

Beaver Creek Cutting Area Map

Another tree cutting opportunity. This is private property and only open on November 25th from 8:00am-2:30pm as a fundraiser for Fitzsimmons Middle School students to attend SeaCamp. All trees are $25.
