New posts is me. I'll then skim and decide which ones I actually want to read but it keeps me aware (mostly) of what's being talked about, even if its a brand new topic.

I generally come into the forum index and look around. The I go to the forums that interest me. Looking at the topics bar is new to me but when I do....I usually go to new posts first.

I have a shortcut that brings me straight to the forums. I log in and then use "View new posts". Sometimes I use the 'Board index' over there on the left under 'View unanswered posts'. I don't think I have ever used any of the drop downs from the bar across the top.

I used to do that, but with the new home page I have to scan it before I enter the forums, lots of good stuff there everyday :)

I've actually made a bookmark folder in Firefox of all the different forums that I like. When I middle-click, it opens them all at once for me in new tabs, so I can see everything I want without too much navigation!
